On the 23rd, on the online communication platform ‘Youth’s Dream’, a supporter asked Mayor Hong, who was about to go on a business trip to China, “They say Fubao lives in Chengdu, China,” and “Are you bringing Fubao with you? Are you going to meet Fubao too?”
In response, Mayor Hong wrote, “I don’t know the true intentions of those who are obsessed with Fubao,” and added, “It’s just a panda that went to its hometown after being at Yongin Natural Farm (formerly known as Everland).”
Starting on the 24th, Mayor Hong will visit our sister city, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, for 5 nights and 6 days.
Fu Bao is the first giant panda in Korea to be born at Everland in Yongin through natural breeding. He left for Wolong Surfing Base in Sichuan Province, China on the 3rd, 1,354 days after his birth.
Fu Bao, who was greatly loved in Korea, is still popular even after leaving Korea, as his life in China was revealed through social media.
