In line with the growth of the comics industry, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Manhwa Contents Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Agency) will hold the ‘2024 Korea Comics Criticism Contest’ to discover and foster culturally diverse approaches and create an in-depth comics culture foundation. .
This contest is open to anyone, regardless of qualifications, including established and new, with a critique written on a free topic of approximately 14,000 characters by selecting one of the four fields of author theory, work theory, policy theory, and industrial theory. The final 6 works will be selected after review by relevant experts such as comics researchers and critics, and the award scale will be ▲1 grand prize winner (prize money of 6 million won), ▲1 grand prize winner (4 million won), and ▲2 excellence prize winners (200 won each). 10,000 won), ▲ 2 Rookie Awards (1 million won each).
