In the online evaluation of the ‘Responsibility Contract’, in which Gyeonggi-do residents directly evaluate the major business performance of Gyeonggi-do public institutions, the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency ranked first in the real-time evaluation.

According to the Gyeonggi Province Responsibility Contract website on the 25th, as of 9 a.m. on this day, the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency ranked first in real-time evaluation with 9,021 votes.

The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation took second place. The number of votes was recorded at 8935. Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation came in third with 8,024 votes, followed by Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation with 1,095 votes.

The projects promoted last year by the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency, which ranked first in real-time, were the ‘creation of a G fund worth 1 trillion won’ and the ‘strengthening the self-reliance capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises’ projects.

The ‘Gyeonggi-do G-Fund’ is promoted to foster investment in small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies, and the new amount raised in 2023 exceeded 317.8 billion won, achieving the largest amount in a single year. We plan to create a fund worth a total of 1 trillion won by 2026. This year, an additional fund worth 150 billion won will be created.

‘Strengthening the self-reliance capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises’ aims to promote corporate growth by securing a supply safety net for companies in the province, strengthening technological self-reliance capabilities, revitalizing the local economy, and creating jobs.

The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation supports KRW 66 billion in bond cancellation to provide opportunities for retrying through credit recovery support, KRW 10 billion in special guarantees for retry hopes, and KRW 75 billion in refinancing funds for small business owners to restore the people’s livelihood.

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation secured 7,901 public housing units in the new city and 316 rental housing units in public complex development, expanded special supply for small and medium-sized workers to 1.2%, promoted 200th safe housing project for seniors, and established Gwanggyo, a world-class facility where culture and arts come together. Design for creating a central plaza has begun.

The Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation has 4 cases of discovering complex cultural spaces and supporting activities in each region, 500 million won in attracting external resources to bridge the gap in cultural enjoyment, and 5 cases of establishing an industry-academia cooperation model to provide an opportunity for arts college students in the province.

The ‘Responsibility Contract’ online evaluation, in which Gyeonggi-do residents directly evaluate the major business performance of Gyeonggi-do public institutions, will be conducted until the 6th of next month.

The ‘Responsibility Contract’ was introduced on a pilot basis last year by Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon to emphasize the responsibility and role of public institutions that have a significant impact on the lives of residents. The performance in 2023 will be evaluated against 2-3 responsibility goals presented by the heads of four organizations with more than 200 residents and experts, including Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation, Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation, and Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency.

The evaluation is divided into a written evaluation conducted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office and experts, an online vote in which residents participate, and an offline vote.

Gyeonggi Province plans to promote special quotas to increase performance and award commendations from the governor to public institutions that have performed well enough to be felt by residents as a result of responsibility contract evaluation.

An official from Gyeonggi Province said, “The responsibility contract was initiated to strengthen the autonomy and responsibility of public institutions. Through this evaluation, we will select public institutions that have achieved outstanding performance that can be felt by the residents of the province. Anyone can participate, so there is a lot of interest.” “I hope you will participate,” he said.
