Andong City hosts ‘Korea Youth Expo’… Form a T/F team and prepare in earnest

Andong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 25th that it hosted the Korea Youth Expo, the largest youth festival in Korea.

According to the city, the Korea Youth Expo, jointly hosted by Andong City, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Gyeongsangbuk-do, is scheduled to be held for three days at the Andong International Convention Center in May 2025, and all youth in Korea will gather here.

The expo, which started in 2005, is a participatory and experiential expo where youth-related contents from all over the country can be found in one place.

Organizations from various fields, including companies, public institutions, and youth facilities, will gather to operate about 200 booths covering all youth-related fields.

In addition, various experience programs linked to local tourism resources are being prepared, such as ▲ a tour of Andong’s famous sites in literary works, ▲ an outdoor escape room at the independence movement site, ▲ a Korean culture theme park experience, and ▲ a Confucian culture museum experience.

The city is accelerating full-scale preparations by forming a task force team jointly with related agencies and organizations such as Gyeongbuk Province and the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency.

In May, we plan to participate in the 20th Korea Youth Expo held in Cheonan and operate a promotional booth for advance publicity.

Previously, the 19th Korea Youth Expo was held in Songdo, Incheon last year.

At that time, the expo consisted of an opening ceremony (Youth Month commemoration ceremony, congratulatory performance, etc.), experiential activities (offline experience booths by theme such as Incheon Zone, online metaverse experience activities), and participation activities (youth joint activity festival, school-linked program, K-Youth talent contest). Competitions, 4-cut toon contests, etc.), lectures (mentor special lectures, youth lectures), and closing ceremonies (awards for excellent booths and participation activities, etc.) were held.

In addition, 252 experience booths were operated with various theme halls in which 112 organizations from 17 cities and provinces across the country participated.

Lee Geum-hye, head of the Lifelong Education Department of Andong City, said, “It will be a festival where youth, who are the leaders of the future, can fully demonstrate their talents and capabilities, experience various youth cultures and experiential activities, and join the local community, which is rich in charm where the past and the future coexist.” He said, “We will work harder to develop various support policies so that youth can grow into happy Andong citizens.”
