The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 25th that it will hold a workshop for teachers from 74 character education schools (25 elementary schools, 32 middle schools, and 17 high schools) and 180 superintendents in charge of education support offices to revitalize character education on the 26th.

In this workshop, ▲incorporating character education into school culture ▲practicing the character development curriculum together ▲sharing the implementation of home and community connection programs at each elementary and middle school level ▲discussing ways to generalize character education.

In addition, in order to create a character-friendly school culture, we plan to present examples of building the foundation for a character-friendly culture, such as ▲ a thank you message contest led by the Student Council, ▲ a warm morning greeting, and ▲ a character campaign by the representative council.

In addition, various practice cases are shared within the school curriculum, such as character-centered projects, arts and sports convergence projects, ecology and environmental education projects, reading projects, and ongoing projects to form correct language habits.

In addition, we plan to look at cases where schools, families, and the community have worked together to promote character education, such as publishing parents’ autobiographies, community volunteer work with families, and reflection programs linked to local universities.

Lee Ji-myeong, head of the Life Character Education Department at the Provincial Office of Education, said, “We will build a character education practice network linking home, school, and the community by expanding and operating character education practice schools,” and added, “Strengthening character education by growth stage in connection with the curriculum, expanding character education linked to home, and Gyeonggi-do. “We will provide integrated support to the field through the Character Education Council,” he said.
