(Vision 21 News) Gyeonggi Province and the Korea Cosmetic Industry Research Institute will hold practical training on cosmetics safety evaluation for 100 people from cosmetics companies in Gyeonggi Province on the 25th in the conference room of the Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency Bio Center.

Cosmetics safety evaluation practical training was designed to promote safe export of cosmetics for Gyeonggi-do cosmetics companies as cosmetics safety management regulations have recently been strengthened internationally.

As the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced plans to introduce a ‘cosmetic safety evaluation system’ by 2028 to strengthen the export competitiveness of the cosmetics industry, it will also introduce what cosmetics companies in Gyeonggi Province should prepare for the domestic safety evaluation system.

This training was designed to provide training convenience to cosmetics companies located in Gyeonggi-do, who had difficulty participating because practical training on cosmetic safety evaluation was conducted mainly in Seoul. In particular, as the number of cosmetics manufacturers in Gyeonggi-do ranks first in the country with 1,671, this training is expected to be highly effective.

The training program includes: ▲Regulatory status by country and introduction of domestic safety evaluation system ▲Introduction of next-generation cosmetics safety evaluation strategy ▲Example of creating a European product information file ▲Exposure and risk assessment of cosmetics ▲How to use the cosmetic ingredient safety review system ▲Latest Chinese cosmetics regulatory trends and issues It was designed to help prepare for domestic and international cosmetic safety evaluations, including the following.

In particular, this training will introduce Gyeonggi-do’s beauty industry development policy and support status, so the province expects that Gyeonggi-do cosmetics companies will be able to gain a lot of information about Gyeonggi-do’s support projects.

Han Tae-seong, head of the Gyeonggi-do Bio Industry Department, said, “I hope that the export difficulties of cosmetics companies in the province will be resolved to some extent through practical training on cosmetic safety evaluation.” He added, “We will continue to strive to prepare various support measures to strengthen the export competitiveness of Gyeonggi-do cosmetics companies.” said.

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province is investing a budget of approximately 2 billion won this year to support the beauty industry in areas such as beauty product research and development, design development, and export marketing.
