The Gyeonggi Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration) is making every effort to enhance the innovative growth and global competitiveness of small and medium-sized venture companies in the Gyeonggi region.

The Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration announced on the 25th that it held the 4th Gyeonggi Region Small and Medium Business Support Council (hereinafter referred to as the Support Council) at the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration Building and inspected the progress of the regional special project ‘Legend 50+’ in the Gyeonggi region.

At the support council meeting on this day, 13 organizations in the region, including Gyeonggi Provincial Office, Gyeonggi Techno Park, Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency, and Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Venture Business Corporation, attended.

‘Legend 50+’, promoted in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is a project aimed at promoting innovative growth and strengthening global competitiveness of local small and medium-sized businesses. Gyeonggi-do was selected in two fields, including root industry (mould, welding) and future automobiles, and a total of 132 companies are participating. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ core policy tools (5 support projects), such as policy funds and innovation vouchers, are supported.

Gyeonggi Techno Park, the leading organization in the future car field, plans to promote networking among participating companies and match customized support projects based on a survey of each company’s status. In addition, we plan to support our expansion into Japan by operating a competition center for Japan’s next-generation mobility partnering project.

The Gyeonggi Province Economic and Science Promotion Agency, the lead agency in the root industry, is additionally promoting the ‘Gyeonggi-do Root Industry Competitiveness Strengthening Support’ project in addition to the project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. In addition, we plan to hold a launch ceremony for the ‘Gyeonggi Root Industry Legend 50+ Network’ jointly with the public and private sectors and operate a Japanese manufacturing site innovation training center in Gyeonggi.

This year’s Legend 50+ support budget is a total of 27.01 billion won, including 4.57 billion won in the future vehicle field and 22.44 billion won in the root industry field. Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration plans to actively support regional R&D projects being piloted by three local offices (Gyeonggi Office, Seoul Office, and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Office) this year by giving preferential treatment (additional points) to Legend 50+ participating companies.

Commissioner Cho Hee-soo said, “We plan to unite Gyeonggi region innovation support organizations to promote innovative growth and strengthen global competitiveness of small and medium-sized venture companies in Gyeonggi region, focusing on the Legend 50+ project,” and added, “We will closely monitor the status of progress through the Gyeonggi Region Small and Medium Business Support Council.” “We will check,” he said.
