South Chungcheong Province, Gyeryong City, and the Republic of Korea Army Association pledged to successfully host the Korea International Defense Industry Exhibition (KADEX), the largest defense industry exhibition in Korea.
The province announced on the 25th in a small conference room at the Provincial Office that Governor Kim Tae-heum, Gyeryong Mayor Lee Eung-woo, and Army Association Chairman Kwon Oh-seong signed a business agreement with the goal of strengthening the status of South Chungcheong Province as the national defense capital through the establishment and successful hosting of the International Defense Industry Exhibition held every two years in Gyeryongdae. .
According to the agreement, the province and Gyeryong City will support exhibition promotion and infrastructure construction, and the Army Association will actively cooperate in continuing to hold the exhibition at Gyeryongdae and providing viewing benefits to the citizens of the province.
At this event, Governor Kim said, “South Chungcheong Province is a mecca for national defense and an outpost for the development of the defense industry, with the 3rd Army Headquarters, Army Training Center, and about 30 industry-academia-research institutes concentrated there.” He added, “The exhibition has completely taken root in South Chungcheong Province, and is comparable to the United States.” “We will actively support it to make it a successful defense industry exhibition,” he emphasized.
The International Defense Industry Exhibition, hosted by the Army Association, will be held at the Gyeryongdae runway from October 2 to 6, during the ‘Gyeryong-gun Cultural Festival/Ground Force Festival’.
It will be held on the largest scale ever, with defense industry officials from 50 countries around the world and 500 domestic defense companies participating and operating 1,500 booths.
The exhibition showcases cutting-edge defense products in each field, from weapon systems such as information, command, control and communication, mobility, firepower, protection, and aviation to power support systems that support combat power protection.
In addition, various programs have been prepared to provide a glimpse into the present and future of our country’s army.
The main programs include △consultations between global defense companies and domestic component companies, △consulting by responsible agencies for companies wishing to enter the defense industry, △start-up technology demonstrations and investment briefings, △purchase consultations between official overseas delegations and participating companies, △demonstrations of new technologies and products by participating companies, etc. am.
The Army Association said that based on data analyzed by the Korea Tourism Organization as per-capita expenditures according to the Multiplex Exhibition Industry (MICE) of 229,259 won for Koreans and 2,234,605 won for foreigners, the amount of consumption induced in South Chungcheong Province, including Gyeryong City, during the exhibition period was It is expected to reach 23 billion won.
