(Uijeongbu = International News) Reporter Lee Woon-an = Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Uijeongbu Hospital (Director Ha Seong-ho) conducted capacity building training for workers at long-term care facilities in Uijeongbu, Yangju, and Dongducheon for two days from April 24th to 25th.
In this training, 127 workers from 71 institutions participated in collaboration with Uijeongbu, Yangju, and Dongducheon city halls, the Uijeongbu City Association of Korea Elderly Long-Term Care Institutions Association, and the Yangju Long-Term Care Institutions Association.
The training on this day covered a variety of topics, including ▲understanding infectious diseases ▲basic principles of infection control ▲standard precautions ▲infection control by pathogen ▲emergency response in case of suffocation ▲emergency response in case of burns.
In particular, this training received high interest and response from attendees by reflecting the needs surveyed in advance and focusing on knowledge and field experience of infection control and emergency situations.
Uijeongbu Hospital said, “We feel rewarded for our efforts as more and more organizations are participating and showing interest,” and emphasized, “We will continue to faithfully fulfill our role as a public hospital to prevent community infection and patient safety.” .
In addition, in the second half of the year, we plan to provide additional capacity-building training for nursing facility workers, and plan to visit long-term care institutions to provide ‘institution-tailored consulting’ to ensure that infection control can be effectively applied in the field.
