Gyeongbuk TP ‘Gyeongbuk region defense industry development direction’ seminar held

Gyeongbuk Techno Park (hereinafter referred to as Gyeongbuk TP) will hold a seminar and business briefing on ‘Gyeongbuk Region Defense Industry Development Plan’ at the Gyeongbuk TP International Conference Room on the 30th of this month.

At the seminar on this day, officials from the Defense Industry One-Stop Support Center as well as working-level officials from companies hoping to enter the defense industry in the Gyeongbuk region will attend to discuss ways to foster all-round companies in the defense industry, which is attracting attention as a key industry in the region.

In Part 1, Dr. Seung-gyu Lee of the Defense Industry One-Stop Support Center introduced ‘Defense industry small and medium-sized and venture company support policies and the basic direction of national defense industry development’, and Kim Jin-gon, team leader of the Gyeongbuk Industrial Convergence Institute, introduced ‘K-K through the Ukraine-Russia War.’ He will give a lecture on the topic of ‘the future of the defense industry’.

In Part 2, a briefing session will be held to recruit participating companies for the ‘2024 Gyeongbuk Defense Industry Small and Medium Enterprise Productivity Improvement Support Project’ being promoted by Gyeongbuk TP. This project was prepared by Gyeongsangbuk-do to improve the production capacity of defense export parts for companies producing export weapon system parts.

This project aims to support molds (up to 75% of the supply price) and facilities (up to 50% of the supply price) to small and medium-sized businesses in the Gyeongbuk region (headquarters or factories, etc.). You can apply through the Gyeongbuk TP website until the 10th of next month.

Gyeongbuk TP plans to provide customized corporate support to strengthen the competitiveness of the defense industry ecosystem in the Gyeongbuk region. In particular, we plan to prepare various support measures to help local manufacturing companies advance into the defense industry and strengthen their competitiveness. In addition, a group of defense industry experts will be formed to suggest directions for the development of the local defense industry and plan projects that can create new opportunities.
