Minister of Education Lee Joo-ho held a video conference with the presidents of 40 universities that run medical schools and requested, “Please complete the revision of school regulations related to medical school quota and changes to the college admissions implementation plan by the end of April.”
The Ministry of Education announced that Minister Lee held a video meeting with the presidents of 40 universities that run medical schools at the Korea Educational Facility Safety Institute in Yeouido, Seoul on the 24th. This is the first meeting held since the government accepted the recommendation of the presidents of six national universities on the 19th to allow each university to autonomously select the number of students in the range of 50-100% of the increase for the 2025 entrance exam.
Minister Lee emphasized on this day, “There is not much time left, but please discuss thoroughly within the university and finalize the implementation plan for college admissions by the end of April.” Minister Lee then requested, “Use the flexibility in medical school recruitment as an opportunity to actively persuade students and professors to return to school.”
