National Defense Commission discusses misinformation on MBC’s ‘Israeli attack on U.S. mainland’
The Korea Communications Standards Commission’s Communications Subcommittee will discuss MBC’s misinformation as an agenda item tomorrow (25th).
Previously, on the 19th, MBC reported, “In addition to concerns about interest rate hikes in the United States, the domestic stock market is falling further due to the news that Israeli missiles attacked the U.S. mainland.”
However, this was different from the truth, and MBC revised the content of the article within an hour and a half without any apology or guidance.
As issues continued to be raised, MBC issued an apology saying, “The wrong title and content were exposed. We apologize for causing confusion. We will be more careful to avoid such mistakes in the future and prepare measures to prevent recurrence.”
