The President’s Office is trying to straighten out the chaotic situation after losing in the April 10 general election.

New Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok warned of sporadic messages during a staff meeting, saying, “Politics is what the president does.”

The first task of the new President’s Chief of Staff is to ‘unify the message’.

According to attendees, Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok emphasized at the first meeting with senior secretaries, “It is not desirable for sporadic messages to be sent out in the name of ‘Presidential Office officials.'”

He also said, “The President’s Office is a working organization, not a speaking organization, and politics is the domain of the President, not the work of secretaries,” and urged, “There should not be a single gap in the throne.”

There is also an interpretation that this is an attempt to strengthen internal discipline, targeting the confusion in messages and controversy surrounding the recent appointment of Park Young-sun and Yang Jeong-cheol.

An official from the President’s Office said, “As President Yoon’s messages and internal decisions have often been sent through sources other than official channels, there have been concerns that they may be out of sync with the president’s intentions or inaccurate.”

However, the ruling party says that Ilshin’s direction should ultimately result in ‘strengthening communication’ through official channels rather than ‘refraining from making remarks’.

Multiple ruling party officials said, “Healthy and active communication must come first,” and added, “If communication is not smooth, noise will intervene and the message will inevitably be dispersed or distorted.”

The opinion is that it is effective only when a refined message is sent through smooth communication.

It is known that Director Jeong, who resigned from his position as a member of the National Assembly and received an official letter of appointment, also appeared in greetings at each chief office and offered encouragement in the spirit of ‘pushing ahead’.

Previously, as Director Chung’s first internal order, he requested that ‘President Yoon’s report should be written concisely and does not exceed one page,’ emphasizing the need to reform internal reporting and communication methods.
