Regarding the suspicion of external pressure on the investigation of Chae Sang-byeong, the fallout has been severe since it was revealed that Lee Si-won, Secretary to the President’s Office for Public Service Discipline, had a phone call with a staff member of the Ministry of National Defense.

There is a strong demand from the opposition party for the truth targeting the President’s Office.

The Fatherland Innovation Party argued that a surprise summons and investigation of Secretary Lee Si-won and a search and seizure of the president’s office were also necessary.

I asked a question on behalf of the people, saying I would ask President Yoon Seok-yeol and the President’s Office.

They asked whether it was President Yoon Seok-yeol who instructed Secretary Lee Si-won to make the call, and whether it was normal for the Secretary for Public Service Discipline to directly call a staff member of the Ministry of National Defense, and whether the President himself was aware of the content of the call. He summoned Secretary Lee to investigate the circumstances surrounding these suspicions. I also questioned whether he did it or not.

″State power is mobilized to hide the truth. So we call this the ‘external pressure incident investigating Marine Chae’s death in the line of duty.’ We are trying to find out who is hiding the truth, why and for what purpose.″

Secretary Lee Si-won, who made the call to the legal affairs officer of the Ministry of National Defense, who is suspected of external pressure on the investigation, is a key close associate of President Yoon Seok-yeol.

The Democratic Party’s offensive targeting the President’s Office, which has not commented, has also intensified.

″All arrows are pointing to President Yoon Seok-yeol and his closest associates. Shouldn’t President Yoon Seok-yeol have to confess at this point?”

Representative Lee Jae-myung, ahead of the summit meeting, also called for the acceptance of the special prosecution law, saying, “This is a series of unusual and unreasonable events.”

″This is the will of the people expressed in this general election. “I hope the President’s Office and the ruling party accept the Special Prosecutor Act and follow the people’s orders.”

The Democratic Party further emphasized its determination to pass the Marine Corporal Chae Special Prosecutor Act within this National Assembly term.
