Professional baseball’s Doosan Bears overcame ‘Oh Jae-won’s bad news’ and succeeded in winning two games in a row.
The Doosan Bears achieved a 4-3 come-from-behind win against the NC Dinos in the 3rd game of the season in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 23rd.
Doosan dominated the three-game series and won two games in a row, recording 12 wins and 15 losses on the season. On the other hand, NC, which failed to win in a row, ended up with 15 wins and 10 losses.
Home team Doosan consists of Jeong Soo-bin (center fielder), Heo Gyeong-min (third baseman), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Kim Jae-hwan (designated hitter), Kang Seung-ho (second baseman), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Henry Ramos (right fielder), Park Joon-young (shortstop)- Jo Soo-haeng (left fielder) formed the starting lineup.

NC took the lead. With one out and no runner on base in the second inning, Park Geon-woo hit a go-ahead solo home run against Doosan starter Choi Jun-ho. NC took the lead in the last 9th inning when Doosan closer Jeong Cheol-won took the mound, Kim Seong-wook and Seo Ho-cheol hit consecutive hits, and pinch hitter Park Se-hyuk hit a bases loaded opportunity with no outs. Kim Joo-won then hit a sacrifice fly against replaced pitcher Hong Geon-hee, but it was not enough to tie the game. With the bases loaded following Park Min-woo’s automatic 4th pitch, Kwon Hee-dong made a fielder’s choice at second base and Son A-seop struck out on a missed swing.
Doosan starter Choi Jun-ho laid the foundation for victory in his second debut game by pitching well, allowing 2 hits (1 home run), 1 walk, 6 strikeouts, and 1 run in 5 innings. Lee Byung-hun, Park Jeong-soo, Kim Myung-shin, Choi Ji-gang, Jeong Cheol-won, and Hong Geon-hee took charge of the team behind them. Park Jeong-soo recorded his first win of the season, and Hong Geon-hee recorded his first save.
In the batting lineup, ‘Captain’ Yang Seok-hwan stood out, hitting 3 hits, including the game-winning hit. Ramos also contributed to the winning streak by hitting multiple hits, including a home run.
On the other hand, NC starter Shin Min-hyuk suffered his second loss (second win) of the season with 9 hits (1 home run), 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, and 4 runs in 6 innings.
Park Min-woo and Kim Seong-wook’s multi-hits and Park Geon-woo’s home run were overshadowed by the loss.
