The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced on the 26th that it will operate 343 learning clubs for faculty and staff in the province by September to create a learning culture that connects field work and learning.

The Provincial Office of Education has been operating a study club since 2005 for faculty and staff to conduct autonomous, ongoing research and learning. Any faculty or staff member can participate in the club, regardless of department or institution.

This year, 4,116 faculty and staff from the main office, direct organizations, educational support offices, and schools are participating in 343 learning clubs. There were 561 more people in 46 teams than last year.

These clubs carry out various activities under the themes of △producing work manuals for junior staff, △Gyeonggi education policy, △spreading a culture of integrity, and △establishing public service values through cultivating knowledge of the humanities.

According to the Provincial Office of Education, upon completion of learning club activities, the plan is to select and award five outstanding club teams through a primary screening of each region’s operation results and reports and a secondary screening by the Provincial Office of Education. In addition, we plan to post the results of the learning club on the Provincial Office of Education website and share them in the field.

Kim Seung-ho, a school business improvement officer at the Provincial Office of Education, said, “By sharing work and acquiring related knowledge, we can research better ways to apply it in the field,” and added, “Through learning club activities and sharing, faculty and staff can learn autonomously in their areas of interest.” “We will create a learning culture that is positive,” he said.
