At the 37th Korea Arts and Culture Awards ceremony held at the main performance hall on the second floor of the Korea Artist Center in Seoul on April 26, Min Woong-gi, vice president of the Daegu Arts Council, received the grand prize in the regional category.

This award is given annually by the Korean Federation of Arts to evaluate the public interest activities and achievements of artists who have devoted themselves to the development of private art culture and the expansion of the people’s right to enjoy culture.

The Arts and Culture Award is an award given to an artist who has contributed significantly to the development of culture and arts over the past 15 years as a full member of the Korea Federation of Arts and Sciences Member Association.

Until the 8th, the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture received recommendations for winners from the Chairman of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Associations and the president of the city/provincial federation. After a thorough screening of the award-eligible candidates, the Daegu Federation of Arts and Culture recommended Min Woong-ki, Vice President of the Daegu Arts Federation, who has made great contributions to the development of local photography art. .

Min Woong-gi, vice president of the Daegu Arts Federation, expressed his feelings about receiving the award, saying, “As I receive this award on behalf of many artists who are working hard to develop local arts, I will strive to develop art culture with a deeper sense of mission.”

Meanwhile, Min Woong-gi, vice president of the Daegu Arts Society, majored in photography and videography at Kyungil University Graduate School and is currently teaching as a professor in the photography course at the Lifelong Education Center of Kumoh Institute of Technology. He also runs the Min Woong-gi Photography Lab and is serving as the 34th president of the Daegu Photographers Association.
