Gyeonggi-do Saemaul Chairman Lee Ho-kyung said this at the ’14th Saemaul Day Commemoration Ceremony and Gyeonggi-do Saemaul Chairman Relocation and Inauguration Ceremony’ held at the Villa de Amor Convention Hall in Icheon City on the 26th.

At an event attended by key figures in the area and about 600 Saemaeul families from 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi-do this morning, the 20th and 21st Chairman Song Jae-pil resigned, and the 22nd Chairman Lee Ho-kyung was inaugurated.

This event began with a pre-ceremony performance by the Rien Amichi Vocal Ensemble, followed by an introduction of the guests, an opening, a report on achievements, and the presentation of a plaque and souvenirs.

Chairman Lee Ho-kyung, who held the inauguration ceremony on this day, is the first ‘Gyeonggi-do Saemaeul Association female president’ in the province and will serve for three years until 2026.

Chairman Lee is currently the CEO of Dongho Inis Co., Ltd., and has previously served as a director of the Gyeonggi Saemaeul Association, a director of the Icheon Sports Council, the head of the women’s soccer team, and the head of the Icheon City Youth Orchestra.

At the event, Chairman Lee said in his inauguration speech, “The Saemaul Undong is not a movement that can be done ‘alone’, but a movement that brings greater rewards and results when we do it ‘together,'” adding, “Let’s comfort and encourage each other so that our sweat is not in vain.” “I will do my best to create a Republic of Korea where we all live happily together,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Saemaeul Association delivered 300 bags of donated rice to Icheon City Hall and social welfare facilities instead of a congratulatory wreath.

In addition, at the inauguration ceremony site on this day, various experience corners prepared by cities and counties in the province and various promotional booths such as making flower pots to reduce fine dust, special products of Icheon City, and Youth Saemaul Alliance were operated.
