(Daily Daegu Gyeongbuk News = Reporter Kim Hyeong-man) The Gyeongsangbuk-do Women’s Organization Council visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office on April 26 and delivered 5 million won in donations to overcome low birth rates through the Gyeongsangbuk-do Social Welfare Community Chest of Korea.

Since its founding in 1980, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Women’s Organization Council is currently composed of 23 provincial-level member organizations and 22 cooperative organizations (city and county) and has played a central role in women’s development, including literacy education to promote women’s social participation every year.

The council is the largest non-profit private organization in Gyeongbuk, with over 270,000 members working to advance women’s rights and interests in all sectors of society and promote regional development.

Lee Bok-seon, president of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Women’s Organization Council, said, “With the donations raised by our women’s association members, we hope to win the war against low birth rates and help make Gyeongbuk a better place to have and raise children.”

The money donated on this day will be used for various projects to overcome low birth rates and encourage childbirth, which Gyeongbuk Province is focusing on.

This donation from the Gyeongsangbuk-do Women’s Group Council is significant as its members voluntarily participated in fundraising to participate in the ‘donation movement of more than 10,000 won with all citizens’ promoted by Gyeongbuk-do.

Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “I would like to thank you for taking interest in the problem of overcoming low birth rates, which depends on the future of the region, and actively participating in this fund-raising campaign.” “I’m looking forward to his actions,” he said.
