(Gyeongbuk = International News) Reporter Kim Yong-gu = Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo met with Robb Pitts, Chairman of Fulton County, Georgia, USA, and Georgia economic officials on the 26th.

This is Chairman Rob Pitts’ third visit since August of last year.

During this visit, government and economic officials, including Chairman Rob Pitts, Georgia State Senator Brandon Beach, Georgia Economic Development Director Fairburn City, and Fulton County Development Agency Deputy Director, accompanied them to discuss ways to promote exchange between Gyeongsangbuk-do and Georgia. We had a conversation.

Georgia is a major transportation hub in the U.S. and has been selected as the No. 1 state for doing business for 10 consecutive years since 2014 due to corporate tax cuts and efficient supply of corporate talent.

About 140 Korean companies, including Hyundai and Kia Motors’ U.S. electric vehicle factories, are advancing into the region, and auto parts companies located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk are advancing into the region and carrying out business activities.

Chairman Pitts and Georgia state officials said, “We hope that the meeting will provide a foundation for cooperation between the two governments and for businesses in Georgia and North Gyeongsang Province to cooperate.”

Governor Lee Cheol-woo said, “Georgia is a representative city that has transformed from a former cotton field into a corporate support hub, and there are many areas for mutual cooperation with Gyeongbuk Province.”

He continued, “I hope that a successful meeting with local companies will lead to active exchanges in various fields between the two regions.”
