Professional basketball player Heo Hoon (29) of Suwon KT became a bad younger brother overnight.
This is a story that came out of a joke between Busan KCC coach Jeon Chang-jin (61) and Heo Woong (31), opponents competing for the championship, at the championship match media day held at the KBL Center in Seoul on the 25th.
It all started when former coach urged Heo Woong to change ahead of the first ‘brother showdown’ in the KBL championship game. Director Jeon said, “I had to buy food for the two brothers ahead of the opening, and Woongi ate cheap bulgogi and Hooni ate expensive sirloin. Good Woongi always gives in to bad Hooni, which makes me upset. “I hope you forget that I am his younger brother in this championship match,” he said.
Heo Hoon, embarrassed, said, “It’s a frame-up. “It’s true that I ate sirloin and it’s true that my brother ate bulgogi,” he said, “but it turns out that my brother ordered bulgogi to be served quickly because he wanted to leave before the director came,” he waved his hand and looked at his brother.
But even the kind Woong ignored his younger brother this time. Heo Woong laughed and said, “It’s Hoon’s lie.” He added, “I ordered bulgogi because I thought about the director, but Hoon said, ‘There’s no chance like this,’ and ordered sirloin for 5 people.” At the same time, he emphasized, “If you think about it, when I eat with Hoon, I always do the billing.” Heo Hoon said, “It’s already a war (the championship match has started). It seems like you’re keeping me in check. I had to sigh and say, “I happened to be a bad younger brother, but I’m (originally) good.”
Aside from the evil Hoon incident, the two brothers are so close that they have been living under the same roof for three months. A KCC official said, “Heo Hoon moved into Heo Woong’s Yongin house and they are living together.”
Heo Woong said, “It only takes about 10 minutes by car from my house to Suwon (KT’s hometown). I also buy the food, but Hoon usually doesn’t bring his wallet. “I want you to bring your wallet tonight,” he laughed. Heo Hoon said, “No matter where you go, seniors usually buy food. I also live when I meet a junior. “If you win, I will buy it,” he responded.
